UPDATE: The Safdies upcoming film is revving up its cast. Jeff Sneider is utterly convinced that Ben Affleck will join Adam Sandler in the Netflix film. Peculiar casting, if you ask me. But it can definitely work.
EARLIER: Josh and Benny Safdie’s next movie will be shot in June. They are still putting the finishing touches on their script.
We already know Adam Sandler will lead the cast, but it was also announced today that singer/rapper Megan Thee Stallion will also be a part of the cast. She’s mostly appeared in TV stuff, but, later this year, is supposed to star in the A24’s R-rated musical comedy “F***ing Identical Twins”, from Larry Charles (“Borat”).
The Safdies film, set in the ‘90s, is said to take place around the sports card collecting world, there’s been an aura of mystery surrounding it ever since I first reported on the project last December.
