Neon Buys Audrey Diwan’s ‘Emmanuelle’

NEON is on a roll. They’ve also bought Audrey Diwan’s “Emmanuelle.” Two years after winning the Golden Lion at Venice for “Happening,” Diwan’s “Emmanuelle,” which started production in September, comes with some hefty expectations. Production on Diwan’s film will go on until December. In this new version, Noémie Merlant will play the famous character. The film is an adaptation of Emmanuelle Arsan's erotic novel — which was originally made into a series of popular softcore porn movies in the ‘70s and ‘80s.
