Are you surprised by the hypocrisy?
The Oscars we’re originally supposed to not require proof of vaccination, but then, after complaints from attendees and on social media, the Academy switched gears and announced that all nominees and invited guests would need to show proof of vaccination and at least two negative P.C.R. tests in order to attend the awards show in March. However, performers and presenters would only need to be tested and wouldn’t have to show proof of vaccination.
So what gives?
It turns out that some people presenting this year remain unvaccinated, and rumours are pointing towards Daniel Kaluuya, Beyoncé, Will Smith and Frances McDormand being one of the many “culprits.”

“Fact of the matter is this: For many decades now, Hollywood has had a contingent of anti-vaxxers among its merriment band of artists, including the likes of Jim Carrey, Robert DeNiro, and Jessica Biel. The anti-vaxxer movement in Hollywood has been as deeply ingrained to its fringe DNA as, say, Scientology.”
So, is it that shocking to learn that nearly a third of Hollywood actors have fake vaccine passports/cards? I trust the always-reliable Jeff Sneider when it comes to this story. He wrote the following on 02.23.22 in his Ankler column:
