Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Nightmare Alley’ To Screen on December 1st

A shout out to The Global and Mail’s Barry Hertz who relayed me to the screening schedule for Guillermo del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley.” It all starts on December 1st with a press/audience screening at the Fox Lot in Los Angeles and goes from there.

As it stands, del Toro is still editing the film and won’t be completing it until the last week of November. So when this screens, the following week, it’ll still be hot off the presses. Notice how there’s a screening in New York City on December 2nd and the following day The New York Film Critics Circle votes on its awards.

The “Nightmare Alley” delays seem to stem from the sound and music mix still not being added, ditto color correction and final VFX. One finds it mind-boggling that del Toro even tried to rush a print of it to the Venice Film Festival in September before backing off from that crazy idea.
