Rachel Brosnahan, of “Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” fame, leads the crime thriller “I’m Your Woman.”
Opening the upcoming AFI Film Festival on October 15th, the film positions Brosnahan as a mob boss’ wife who becomes an unwitting accomplice in her husband’s crimes. Judging by the release of today’s trailer for “I Am Your Woman,” this has none of the melancholic allure of ‘Maisel’ and rather goes down the gritty dealings that cemented her breakthrough role in ‘House of Cards.”
”I’m Your Woman” is the fourth feature film from writer/director Julia Hart, after “Miss Stevens” in 2016, the 2019 SXSW hit “Fast Color,” and this year’s Disney+ offering “Stargirl”. However, this latest feature looks like a much grimmer offering for the young filmmaker, it will either be a step up or a step down for Hart.
Amazon Studios will release “I’m Your Woman” on December 11.
