The big wide release this weekend is “Insidious: Out of the Further,” backed by Sony and Blumhouse. This is the sixth ‘Insidious’ movie, and since they are made cheaply, it won’t be the last.
Michael Showalter (“The Big Sick”) is teaming up with Amazon/MGM to direct a “modern retelling” of the 2001 romantic comedy “Serendipity.” Marc Klein, who wrote the original film, is writing the script.
The theatrical rollout for “The Mosquito Bowl” is for Oscar eligibility, as the film will play in select AMC theaters during its run, along with additional locations across the country.
The 95-minute film was fully playable on Wednesday, for more than two hours, and was ultimately removed at around 10am. Regardless, the damage has been done.
