‘The Brutalist' Battling MPA's NC-17 Rating? [Updated]

“The Brutalist” is officially rated R for “strong sexual content, graphic nudity, rape, drug use and some language.” The MPA rating announcement comes just three days before the film gets released in theaters.

Is it a coincidence that we’re getting two separate articles, both from major outlets, within a week of each other, tackling the supposed end of Hollywood’s “woke” era? Hey, it’s not even me using that word. The New York Times’ Kabir Chibber and The Telegraph’s Robbie Collin are the ones hinting at how “Hollywood’s great unwokening has been unleashed.”

‘Beyond the Spider-Verse' Footage Scrapped, Script Rewritten, and Release Delayed

‘Gladiator II' on VOD December 24 — One Month After Theatrical Release

Here comes news that Ridley Scott’s “Gladiator II” has set up a December 24 VOD date — just four weeks after the film was released in theaters. That’s the new normal. Studios just can’t help themselves in trying to reap the monetary benefits that come with the sped-up digital release market. What this does is water down the theatrical experience.
