‘Nosferatu' Trailer Next Week

Back in June, a teaser for Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” was released. I’m now being told we’re getting a full-length trailer — 2 minutes 30 seconds in length — next week. Earlier in the month, “Nosferatu” privately screened in Leipzig, but no reactions have leaked out so far. The film is set to hit theaters on December 25.

James Wan Set to Produce ‘Robocop' Series for Amazon/MGM

There is no need for this. I would rather have Neil Blomkamp’s “Robocop Returns”? Blomkamp’s sequel, greenlit in 2018, was meant to bring back Peter Weller in the titular role. MGM ended up scrapping the entire project a year later.

Spike Lee: ‘Highest 2 Lowest' is A “Reinterpretation — NOT A Remake" of Kurosawa Classic

The film, which has already been shot, is supposedly being set up for Spring 2025 release, at least according to Lee (via The Montreal Gazette). The filmmaker adds that it's not a remake, but rather a “reinterpretation” of Kurosawa’s crime thriller.

‘Hellboy 4' Sent Straight to Digital on October 8

Just a brief note on Ketchup Entertainment’s “Hellboy: The Crooked Man,” a reboot of the franchise initially started by Guillermo del Toro. The film has now set up a straight to digital release on October 8. Brian Taylor (Crank, Mom and Dad) directs and Jack Kesy (“12 Strong”) takes over the role made famous by Ron Perlman.

Backlash Over Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ Casting Of Jacob Elordi As “Dark-Skinned” Heathcliff

Some reported backlash has occurred over Elordi’s casting as Heathcliff. The character’s ethnicity is ambiguous in Brontë’s 1847 novel, with “some consensus” that his description as a “dark-skinned gipsy” likely meant that he was not white.
