‘Spider-Man: Far From Home' Review: Inessential MCU, This ‘European Vacation' Romp Barely Entertains

June 27, 2019 Jordan Ruimy

The second installment in the latest live-action Spider-Man reboot feels like it wants to be an MCU “European Vacation” but is continuously bogged down by the familiar narrative beats that come in being, you know, part of the MCU. Well, consider me completely shocked by the overwhelmingly positive first reaction tweets for Marvel’s upcoming “Captain Marvel.” SHOCKED! I’m being sarcastic, of course, but name me another MCU movie that hasn’t had a positive overall tweet reaction? It’s pathetic how critics just stoop down and try to find the best combination of words to get those likes/retweets. Even a few of the critics seem to not be completely on-board have decided to just post whatever positives they saw, X-off the negatives. This isn’t film criticism, sorry. It’s just tweeting.
