Producer of Wes Anderson's upcoming film says it's not a musical, “...but a film set in France at different times [periods]. It’s a story about writers, with connections to Kansas, USA.”

Wes Anderson’s next film will be his first live-action project in five years, or at least since 2014's “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” This year, Anderson released the stop-motion treat “Isle of Dogs,” which underwhelmed at the box-office, but had critics more or less approving.

Jeremy Dawson, a long-time producer of Anderson's, dating back to 2007, is in France taking care of all the small, and big details, for the upcoming production of Anderson's next project, which is supposed to be taking place in France. Speaking to Charente Libre, he shot down rumors that it would be a '50s set musical:

“Speaking perfect French, the New Yorker, who has worked with Wes Anderson on several films already, claims that it is not a musical ‘but a film set in France at different times [periods]. It’s a story about writers, with connections to Kansas, USA.’”

The rumored cast for the untitled film is tremendous: Brad Pitt, Natalie Portman, Bill Murray, Tilda Swinton, Owen Wilson, Adrian Brody, Lea Seydoux and Matthew Almarich.
