Rumor: Paul Thomas Anderson Looking For an Actress to Play Marjorie Taylor Greene in New Film

February 23, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

There aren’t many confirmed details about Paul Thomas Anderson’s mysterious new movie, set to shoot this summer. Here what we know and what’s been rumored…

Back in late November, PTA’s producer and casting director, Cassandra Kulukundis, posted a casting call that was looking for a “teenage girl who excels at Martial Arts”.

Now we’re hearing from journalist Jeff Sneider that this new PTA film is a father/daughter story “about the current GOP” that might feature as a side character…Marjorie Taylor Greene?!

Sneider is reporting that PTA is currently looking for an actress to play Taylor Greene, adding that this intel comes from a very credible source. Credible or not, this is a flat-out weird rumor.

If you can believe it, Taylor Greene used to be a Crossfit Trainer, and that sport has some mixed martial arts added in with the weightlifting. So, who knows?

PTA tackling modern-day politics would strike me as a tad odd since he’s never been the most politically outspoken celebrity. I’ll keep asking around to confirm how truthful the MTG rumor is, but for now take it with a major grain of salt.

It’s also been rumored that Leonardo DiCaprio has signed onto this movie which, according to Kulukundis’ casting call, will start shooting this July in and around Los Angeles.
