The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just announced the films that qualified for the Animated Oscar this year. Five nominees will be selected.

The front-runners currently are: “Incredibles 2,” “Isle of Dogs,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,” “Early Man,” “Smallfoot,” and “Mirai.”

The rest of the field includes “Ana y Bruno,” “Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch,” “Fireworks,” “Have a Nice Day,” “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” “The Laws of the Universe – Part I,” “Liz and the Blue Bird” “Lu over the Wall,” “MFKZ,” “Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms,” “The Night Is Short, Walk on Girl,” “On Happiness Road,” “Ruben Brandt, Collector,” “Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero,” “Sherlock Gnomes,” “Tall Tales,” “Teen Titans Go! To the Movies,” and “Tito and the Birds.”

Where's "Paddington 2" might you ask? Well, it didn't qualify because it was released in the U.K. last year.
