Confirmed: Stephen Graham Joins Michael Mann’s ‘Heat 2’ as Young Neil McCauley

According to Variety, Stephen Graham is confirmed to have joined the cast of Michael Mann’s “Heat 2,” joining the already-announced Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Adam Driver, Jason Clarke and Odessa Young.

Graham is likely playing a younger version of master thief Neil McCauley, famously portrayed by Robert De NIro in the 1995 crime classic. Meanwhile, Bale is detective Vincent Hannah, originally played by Al Pacino, and DiCaprio is expected to tackle Val Kilmer’s character and McCauley’s right-hand man, Chris Shiherlis

Graham starred in Netflix’s "Adolescence", which earned him the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. The British-born actor is best known for his roles in "Venom", the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, "Peaky Blinders", and was recently seen playing Bruce Springsteen’s father in "Deliver Me From Nowhere". Graham is also in Florian Zeller’s "Bunker", starring Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz, Paul Dano, which just screened at Venice — don’t expect good reviews.

Michael Mann penned the script for "Heat 2" based on his 2022 novel of the same name, which he co-wrote with Meg Gardiner. The novel serves as both a prequel and sequel to Mann’s "Heat". Mann will return to direct and produce "Heat 2", with Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber, and Nick Nesbitt producing alongside him. Production is set to begin in November.
