The MPA has unveiled its latest batch of ratings, and a pair of high-profile titles are seemingly done with post-production work.
Luca Guadagnino’s “Artificial” has officially been stamped with a PG-13 rating for “some strong language,” which means a) the film is ready to go and b) this won’t be graphically delving into Sam Altman’s sex life. This is the first PG-13-rated film of Guadagnino’s career.
Also of note is Mike Leigh’s “Tender Loving Care,” which is set to hit the fall fests, including Telluride, Toronto and New York. The film has been rated R for “language.” That’s it. Probably lots of F-words.
Some of the other titles now ready with an MPA stamp include David O. Russell’s “Madden,” which received an R rating — that one’s only hitting a handful of theaters for just a week before going to Prime streaming the following week. Rounding out the MPA slate are Jordan Firstman’s “Club Kid” (R), “Practical Magic” (PG-13), and Peter Berg’s “The Mosquito Bowl” (R).
The man doesn't stop. James Gunn has confirmed he's already hard at work writing his next film, even as ‘Man of Tomorrow’ makes its way toward theaters next summer.
