The new trailer for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” hit YouTube 30 minutes ago and it’s already amassed over 630k views. This film is going to be a monster at the box-office. The people love Spidey, and Spidey loves them back.
This latest trailer comes 24 hours after star Tom Holland declared ‘Brand New Day’ to be the "best Spider-Man movie that we’ve ever made.” Honestly, I would be way more excited about another Raimi-directed Spidey, even with a 50-year-old Tobey Maguire, than an MCU-diluted one. I find the Holland Spideys — ‘Homecoming,’ ‘Far From Home,’ and ‘No Way Home’ — barely memorable.
No offense to Holland, or the great ‘Spider-Verse’ animated films, but Sam Raimi’s “Spider-Man 2” is still the best one — hell, it’s probably one of the best comic book movie ever made.
‘Brand New Day’ follows on the massive success of ‘No Way Home,’ which raked in over $1.9 billion at the global box office in 2021. I’d be shocked if this latest one doesn’t crack the billion dollar mark as well. Tickets went on sale this morning, and based on reports, have been selling incredibly well.
Returning to the role, Holland once again suits up as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is there as well. The film marks the first ‘Spider-Man’ outing directed by ‘Shang-Chi’ helmer Destin Daniel Cretton. Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Michael Mando, and J.K. Simmons are set to reprise their roles, while Jon Bernthal as The Punisher, Sadie Sink (rumored to play Jean Grey) and Tramell Tillman (“Severance”) are the new additions.
Sony has set up a July 31, 2026 release date for ‘Brand New Day.’
