Bo Burnham, comedian, musician, writer, actor, and filmmaker, directed “Eighth Grade” in 2018 to widespread critical acclaim, with the film appearing on many critics’ year-end top-10 lists. It remains his only narrative feature as a director to date.
There’s now an encouraging update in the latest issue of Production Weekly. Apparently, Burnham has set up his next effort, titled “Outside,” with a cinematographer already attached: Jody Lee Lipes (Manchester by the Sea).
Bo Burnham has been on a relatively low-output period in recent years, having not released a major new comedy special since “Inside” (2021). He has largely stayed out of the public eye since then. Fans are often eager for any sign of new work, and this latest update is promising, though nothing official has been confirmed.
