Kenneth Lonergan hasn’t released a film since 2016’s “Manchester by the Sea.” It’s time for him to come back to cinema.
According to Variety, Lonergan is set to direct “Tomorrow Is a Drag,” which is set to be his first film in over 10 years. Not just that, but Aubrey Plaza, Adam Driver, Vanessa Kirby and Matthew Broderick have signed on to star.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the package just hit the Cannes market. Hopefully the film starts shooting soon so we can get it in 2027.
Lonergan quietly established himself as a master with just three films to his name — “You Can Count On Me,” “Margaret,” and “Manchester by the Sea.” Each project a meticulous exploration of grief, guilt, and regret.
