The Daniels’ Next Film Gets $150M Budget at Universal, Ryan Gosling Set to Star

April 1, 2026 Jordan Ruimy

Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan’s next film, a sci-fi action comedy, is coming out November 19, 2027, via Universal. It’s still untitled, but it’s eyeing a shoot this summer in California. Ryan Gosling is set to star.

Here’s TheInSneider with a striking new update about the film. This movie ain’t cheap. Universal reportedly gave the Daniels $150M to make it. That’s quite the amount given that their last film, the Oscar-winning “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” was made for just $25M.

This mysterious new film will arrive more than five years after “Everything Everywhere” hit theaters, at a time when indie cinema was still reeling from the pandemic and the Daniels’ A24 oddity somehow became an indie hit. Suffice it to say, their next one will be the biggest gamble of their careers.
