Remember last summer when Quentin Tarantino hinted that he was pausing work on his tenth and final movie to write a play? Well, he wasn’t kidding.
We now know what it is — and it’s far from the violent stories Tarantino usually brings to the big screen. In fact, it appears Tarantino has written a classic British-style farce comedy, filled with slapstick chaos, awkward mishaps, and characters constantly mistaken for someone else, similar to the comedies associated with Brian Rix and Ray Cooney.
The play is eyeing a 2027 debut in London’s West End, although late 2026 is still a possibility. A source added: “He has written this himself. It is not based on any of his films. It is a farce, in the British, Noises Off tradition.”
Currently, Tarantino is exploring a variety of theater spaces of different sizes and types as he plans the staging. This aspect is said to be crucial to the production, and there are rumors that one scene may feature an actor descending onto the stage via a wire.
Furthermore, Tarantino is reportedly negotiating with major Hollywood actors to star in the show.
In case you’re wondering, Tarantino — who recently passed on directing “The Adventures of Cliff Booth,” and scrapped what was supposed to be his next film, “The Movie Critic” — has yet to decide on a script for what will be his tenth and final film.
