‘Cliff Booth': Netflix Releases 8 New Images, But Still No Poster, or Robust Trailer

Netflix has unveiled a fresh batch of stills from David Fincher's "The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth," and they offer our best look yet at a supporting cast that features Elizabeth Debicki, Scott Caan, Carla Gugino, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Peter Weller, Matt Groove, JB Tadena, Corey Fogelmanis, and Karren Karagulian.

Among the highlights: Brad Pitt's Cliff alongside Peter Weller as Gus Booth, and a shot of Pitt with Debicki, who plays Karen Crosby. The images have that grimy, amber-lit, late-'70s L.A. look.

This latest batch of images makes it all the more baffling that, with the film barely five weeks from release, we still don't have an official poster, nor have we gotten a full-course trailer.

Earlier this month, a gorgeous retro one-sheet made the rounds — and I was among those who ran with it. I was like, hallelujah, finally some promo for this film. It turns out it was a fan-made concept rather than an official Netflix release; Netflix has still not unveiled an official poster for the film.

I don't get it. A poster is the most basic piece of any theatrical campaign, and its absence at this stage makes it seem like Netflix still doesn't quite know how to sell this movie. The stills are very much welcome, though.

The whole campaign has been strange. Netflix teased the film back in February with a surprise Super Bowl spot but labeled it only "Coming Soon," without an actual release date or title. And remember, this is no small gamble — Tarantino himself has confirmed a $200M budget. You'd think a nine-figure Fincher-Tarantino-Pitt event movie would be marketed like one.

The release plan is just as unusual. A Fincher-Tarantino-Pitt movie should be built for the big screen, yet the film is scheduled for an exclusive two-week IMAX run on only 350 screens, starting November 25, 2026, before premiering on Netflix on December 23, 2026.
