Well, congrats Marvel. You’ve somehow managed to make ‘The Fantastic Four’ just as popular, if not more so, than “Superman.”
The latest MCU reboot opened to a stellar $32M Friday and is now on pace for a $120M opening weekend — almost matching the launch of James Gunn’s DCU and its flagship, Superman. The numbers are nearly identical, down to the CinemaScore grade: ‘Fantastic Four’ pulled off an A-, which also happens to be what “Superman” received.
Marvel’s first family is back, and audiences seem to be on board. There’s no denying the curiosity factor around ‘Fantastic Four,’ especially with the cast generating positive buzz and the overall tone reportedly more grounded than recent MCU fare.
Now it’s your turn: What did you think of ‘Fantastic Four’? Was it superior or inferior to “Superman”? I was out of town the whole week and missed my press screening — planning on watching the film tonight.
