‘Weapons’ Rolls Out Eerie Posters Amid Viral Marketing Push

July 14, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Back in April, a 45-second teaser for Zach Cregger’s “Weapons” (08.08.25) was released online. Warner Bros. seems to be taking the long road when it comes to marketing this film. A few weeks later, a 2-minute trailer was released, still cryptic stuff,

Warners also released 2+ hours of security cam footage for “Weapons” on an unlisted YouTube channel. The footage seemed to show the “disappeared” children; Take a closer look at the 2h 14min 26 sec mark, and you notice a man’s reflection staring at the screen. The plot of the film has children waking up in the middle of the night and walking out of their homes, not to be seen again.

Now, yet another poster, the fourth one, has been unveiled—this one featuring a grid of cryptic, almost-childlike symbols set against a dark, foreboding background, suggesting hidden dangers lurking beneath the ordinary. Like the others, it’s steeped in mystery. I’ve shared all posters released so far below this piece.

Warners is clearly taking a page out of Neon’s efficient “Longlegs” marketing, or if you want to go more retro, then what they seem to be going for in their marketing is something similar to the way ‘Blair Witch’ and ‘Cloverfield’ were promoted a few decades ago. I think it’s working. “Weapons” could become a horror hit in August.
