Janus Films has secured the North American distribution rights to “Resurrection,” the latest feature from acclaimed Chinese director Bi Gan and winner of a Special Award at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.
Premiering in competition at Cannes, “Resurrection” is Bi Gan’s third film, following his acclaimed works “Kaili Blues” and “Long Day’s Journey Into Night.” Structured in six segments that span a hundred years, the film is set in a world where dreaming has vanished, save for one remaining creature still captivated by the remnants of a dreamscape.
The cast includes Chinese pop icon and actor Jackson Yee, alongside celebrated actress Shu Qi, known for her frequent work with auteur Hou Hsiao-Hsien.
