Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein’ Trailer to Premiere on Saturday

May 27, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Netflix’s global fan celebration, Tudum 2025, is set to go live on Saturday evening. Among the major highlights of the event will be a sneak peek at “Frankenstein,” the upcoming film directed by Guillermo del Toro. Fans can look forward to the trailer premiering during the live event.

Del Toro teased the trailer’s arrival over the holiday weekend on Bluesky. Word is that it’ll be unveiled online not too soon after the in-person premiere.

Del Toro’s take on Mary Shelley’s iconic 1818 novel reimagines the story of Victor Frankenstein, a genius driven by ambition, who creates a living being through an unholy experiment—leading to tragic consequences for both the scientist and his creation.

Oscar Isaac takes on the role of Victor Frankenstein, with Jacob Elordi portraying the creature. The cast also features Mia Goth as Elizabeth and Christoph Waltz as Dr. Pretorius.

“This story has lived with me since childhood,” del Toro recently shared. “I’ve tried to make this film for over two decades. Some say I’m obsessed with Frankenstein, and they’re probably right. Over the years, the character has become so entwined with my life, it feels autobiographical. It’s the most personal film I’ve ever made.”

“Frankenstein” is scheduled to premiere on Netflix in November 2025.
