Leonardo DiCaprio dropping out of Damien Chazelle’s ‘Evel Knievel’ film came down to his allegiance with — who else — Martin Scorsese.
THR reports that DiCaprio and Chazelle had been gearing up to shoot their Evel Knievel biopic this summer. However, after extended discussions, DiCaprio opted to step away from the project, choosing instead to reunite with Scorsese for another collaboration—motivated, in part, by the iconic director’s age.
Scorsese is now 82. We’re not entirely sure what this project might be — the Hawaiian Crime movie with Dwayne Johnson is only supposed to shoot next year. My bet is that it’s “Home,” Scorsese’s Marilynne Robinson adaptation which is currently set up at Apple TV.
