Charli XCX Has Shot Seven Films—And Not One Has Been Released

April 29, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

There she is again.

According to Variety, Charli XCX will both star in and produce Japanese filmmaker Takashi Miike’s upcoming untitled movie — no doubt it’ll be a violent one.

While specific plot details remain under wraps, Miike is widely recognized for his graphic and intense storytelling, famously showcased in films like “Audition,” “Ichi the Killer,” and “13 Assassins.” The screenplay is being written by Ross Evans, who is also behind the script for How to Save a Marriage, currently in development at Sony.

This is set to be Miike’s 103rd feature film.

Only recently, Charli, a Grammy award-winning singer, decided to shift her focus to acting, building a diverse slate of film projects. She’s already shot seven films: “The Moment,” “100 Nights of Hero,” “Erupcja,” “Faces of Death,” “I Want Your Sex,” “Sacrifice,” and “The Gallerist.” None of them have been seen yet, so we actually have no idea if Charli can actually act.

Charli was also supposed to star as The White Witch in Greta Gerwig’s upcoming ‘Narnia,’ but according to a recent report, ended up losing the role to Emma Mackey after “bombing” her audition.”

Her very first acting gig, Daniel Goldhaber’s “Faces of Death,” seems to be in post production hell at the moment. We might however get to see “I Want Your Sex,” and “Sacrifice” at the fall fests this year.
