Jordan Peele's Next Film Releases on October 23, 2026

March 3, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

So, we’re going to have to wait another year before Jordan Peele’s next film gets released. Universal has officially dated his next still untitled film for October 23, 2026. Expect a 2025 production start on this one.

Universal had originally set Peele’s untitled fourth film for release on Dec. 25, 2024. A summer shoot was planned for the film, but unforeseen was an impending writer and actor’s strike. Universal eventually removed Peele’s film from its 2024 release slate.

It was recently reported that Peele had pulled a Tarantino and that this next one is an actually entirely different film altogether than the one he had originally planned to make before last year’s strikes.

Like all projects directed by Peele, this one comes in total and utter secrecy, and we probably won’t even know what it’s about until it gets released. There’s been no information who might star either— previous rumors pointed towards Janelle Monáe, Selena Gomez, Regina Hall, Steven Yeun and Daniel Kaluuya being part of the project, but it was never corroborated with strong sourcing.

Some have theorized that it might be a sequel to “Get Out,” but I can’t see that happening, just yet. Peele had also teased that he wanted to make a sequel to “Nope.” I wouldn’t bet on that either. It’s probably another original story and that October date does hint at a horror film, just in time for Halloween.

Peele is a talented filmmaker, with great chops behind the camera, and a promising career ahead of him. 2017’s “Get Out” broke him out in a big way and his ensuing films, “Us and “Nope,” although not as successful, were ambitious and interesting. Anything he does next should be paid attention to. Stay tuned …
