How sad is it that we have trades celebrating Edward Berger’s “Conclave” hitting the $100M worldwide mark at the box-office. Has it become so rare for an adult-oriented original to make that much money? The obvious answer is YES. Hell, “Conclave” only grossed $32M in the United States, and most of its earnings have come from International territories, especially Europe. The irony of it all is that Berger’s next film is actually with Netflix.
