Here’s our first look (via EW) at Hugh Jackman, Jodie Comer and Bill Skarsgård in Michael Sarnoski’s “The Death of Robin Hood,” which is coming to us from A24.
This is said to be a dark reimagining of the classic tale of Robin Hood. The film sees the title character grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder—a battle-worn loner who finds himself gravely injured and in the care of a mysterious woman who offers him a chance at salvation.
“The Death of Robin Hood” is Sarnoski's first time shooting on 35mm film, which he says upped everyone's game. "There's a charge that it gives you — we're burning film right now, this is the real deal. There's something about being in real epic, scopey locations, shooting on film that feels like you're capturing something."
Production on this wrapped in April 2025. This also marks Sarnoski coming off his previous effort, 2024’s A Quiet Place: Day One, which was his sophomore outing. His debut, 2021’s Pig, was an acclaimed pandemic-era indie starring Nicolas Cage.
