Another day, another remake. Apple Original Films is developing an English-language version of Morten Tyldum’s “Headhunters,” the well-reviewed 2011 Norwegian thriller. Mark Wahlberg is attached to star and produce, with Bill Dubuque (“The Accountant”) writing the screenplay.
Tyldum’s film tackles a successful corporate headhunter who maintains the illusion of wealth and status while secretly funding his lavish lifestyle by stealing valuable works of art. When he targets a former executive (played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) who possesses a rare painting, Roger becomes entangled in a deadly game of deception and survival.
There is no confirmed director for the English-language remake of “Headhunters.” Tyldum followed up the film with his Hollywood debut, 2014’s “The Imitation Game,” which was nominated for 8 Oscars, including Best Picture. Sadly, he followed that one up with the infamous Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt-starring “Passengers” in 2016. Tyldum hasn’t directed a film since.
