UPDATE: Lynch’s producer, Sabrina Sutherland, confirmed on Reddit that the filmmaker is “doing okay and is safe.” That’s very good news, and hopefully his home isn’t wiped out like many others living in the area.
David Lynch's home on Senalda Road is under evacuation orders due to the L.A. fires. The evacuation area is Mullholland Dr. to the 101 to Hollywood Blvd. to Laurel Canyon Blvd. Lynch is one of more than 100,000 people to face evacuations due to the fires.
There’s obvious concern, Lynch already has difficulty breathing normally since he suffers from Emphysema; The combination of the smoke, and the stress, from fleeing or evacuating these fires can be very dangerous. We send our best wishes to him and the thousands currently in the middle of this post-apocalyptic hell.
Paul Greengrass’ "The Uprising," starring Andrew Garfield, opened to $3.2M from 2,068 theaters this weekend. Yikes. The budget hasn’t been disclosed, but is said to be in the $20-$30M range.
