Brad Pitt to Star in David Ayer's ‘Heart of the Beast'

January 24, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

Brad Pitt has found his next film. He’s set to star in David Ayer’s “Heart of the Beast,” an action adventure film for Paramount Pictures (via Deadline). A peculiar project for Pitt, 61, who was supposed to star in Tarantino’s now-shelved “The Movie Critic.”

Written by newcomer Cameron Alexander, and co-produced by Damien Chazelle, “Heart of the Beast” is said to tackle a former Army Special Forces Soldier (Pitt) and his retired combat dog who battle for survival after a plane crash deep in the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness.

This is set up to be Pitt’s next film after this summer’s “F1,” which releases in theaters on June 27. He recently teamed with George Clooney on “Wolfs,” Apple TV+’s fixer action comedy directed by Jon Watts. Some of Pitt’s other recent credits include “Babylon,” “Bullet Train,” “Ad Astra” and “Once Upon A Time in Hollywood.”

Pitt and Ayer previously collaborated on 2014’s “Fury,” an excellent WWII epic that grossed over $200M at the worldwide box-office. In fact, it’s probably Ayer’s best movie. The filmmaker’s other credits include “Harsh Times,” “Street Kings,” “End of Watch,” and “The Beekeeper.” Let’s not mention “Suicide Squad,” which Ayer has now completely disowned.
