Trailer for ‘Until Dawn'

January 16, 2025 Jordan Ruimy

UPDATE: The trailer has been released.

EARLIER: David F. Sandberg’s “Until Dawn” is a much anticipated live-action spin-off of the 2015 video game developed by Supermassive Games. Gary Dauberman (“The Nun”) wrote the screenplay. The film stars a batch of young talent, including Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, and Odessa A'zio.

Sony has released a first-look teaser which includes Sandberg and Dauberman breaking down the process behind making the film along with its story. “Until Dawn” is scheduled to be released in the United States on April 25, 2025. I don’t expect much from this one, and it sounds like the teaser has even irked some hardcore fans who see no resemblance to their beloved video game.

The film, set in the same universe as the video games, tackles a group of Gen Zers who spend the weekend in a ski lodge on the anniversary of their friends' disappearance, unaware that they are not alone. Sandberg and Dauberman will no doubt be tackling the supernatural in this one.

Sandberg first broke out with his nifty 2019 horror flick “Lights Out,” but has since moved on to IP filmmaking with “Shazam,” “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” and “Annabelle: Creation.” Hollywood just sucked him into their creative hellhole and Sandberg hasn’t looked back since.
