Box Office: ‘The Crow' $650K, ‘Blink Twice' $820K

August 23, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

The summer movie season is nearing its finish, and judging by Thursday’s numbers, it’s going to be a very quiet at the box office this weekend as both of this week’s big new releases are underperforming.

“The Crow,” only managed to make $650k in Thursday previews. Rupert Sanders’ reboot is looking at an opening anywhere between $6M and $8M. The production budget is reported to be $50M. The all-around negative reviews the film received yesterday will not help it gain momentum over the weekend.

With decent reviews to its name, Zoe Kravitz’s directorial debut, “Blink Twice,” raked in $820K on Thursday. It’s projected to earn $8M over the weekend. At least the film didn’t cost all that much to produce — the budget is said to be $20M.

It looks as though last weekend’s top 3 movies will remain unchanged. However, there’s a good chance that “Alien: Romulus” might lose the top spot to “Deadpool & Wolverine,” both are projected to earn $16-18M. Meanwhile, “It Ends With Us” will be far behind those two, at #3, with a $10M tally.
