Paramount-Skydance Merger Deal Finally Approved

After a planned merger failed to materialize in June, Shari Redstone’s National Amusements aka Viacom, the company that owns Paramount and CBS, have a merger deal with David Ellison’s Skydance now in place, and soon to be approved by the company’s board. This would end one of the messiest and most consequential merger deals in recent history. It should be noted that Redstone’s failure to sell a year ago lowered the price of the asset by a few hundred million dollars. Go figure.
