In an interview with IndieWire, Maika Monroe is confirming that David Robert Mitchell’s “They Follow” starts shooting in “early 2025.” She also mentions that the sequel takes place 10 years after the events of the first one.
In the meantime, Mitchell is currently in the middle of post-production on his sci-fi film “Flowervale Street,” starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, which is set for release in May 2025. They’re aiming for a Cannes premiere with that one.
Mitchell is the filmmaker behind “It Follows,” “Under the Silver Lake,” and “The Myth of the American Sleepover.” He hasn’t released a film since ‘Silver Lake,’ which premiered at Cannes in 2018. It looks like we might be getting two new films from him next year.
