So Far, So Good for ‘The Fall Guy'

March 13, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

We already heard from Steven Spielberg about his love for “The Fall Guy,” and last night it was time for SXSW Film Festival audiences to weigh in on the film.

The easy-to-please Austin crowd did not disappoint in their excitement for the David Leitch directed action pic. “The Fall Guy” currently has a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes (based on 11 reviews) with an 8.1 average score. It sounds like it could be the perfect summer movie — brainless fun.

Leitch is a much sought after filmmaker right now in the industry, especially, and mostly, for action movies. He’s so far directed “John Wick,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Deadpool 2,” “Hobbs and Shaw,” and 2022’s “Bullet Train.” He might have another hit in his hands with ‘Fall Guy.’

Here’s the 3-minute trailer for ‘Fall Guy,’ set for May 3 release, which stars Gosling as washed up stuntman Colt. He’s trying to solve a case but his acting double (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) is missing. Emily Blunt is the director of the movie, and Colt’s potential romantic partner. Gosling and Blunt are coming off, respectively, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer.”
