There’s been chatter, for a few weeks now, that Luca Guadagnino is eyeing Jacob Elordi to be his Patrick Bateman in the “American Psycho” remake. TheInSneider is echoing these rumors in his latest newsletter.
It’s far from being a done deal, but Elordi would be inspired casting. He has the looks, the charm and the attitude to pull off Bateman. Last year, Elordi was in “Priscilla” and “Saltburn”; he’s supposed to be shooting the third season of ‘Euphoria’ in early 2025.
Based on what I’ve been told, Guadagnino’s “American Psycho” will not be set in the 1980s, but will instead be a modern-day reimagining of Bret Easton Ellis’ seminal novel. Lionsgate has hired Scott Z. Burns to pen the screenplay.
