First ‘Terrifier 3' Screening Produces Mass Walkouts in First 10 Minutes

October 3, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

I can count in one hand the number of times I’ve been utterly repulsed by a horror film and tempted to walk out in disgust, “The Human Centipede 2,” “A Serbian Film,” and Hostel Part II” come to mind.

The last ‘Terrifier’ movie had reports of people passing out, puking and crying in bathrooms. It’s a film franchise that prides itself in repulsing its audience, and it looks like the latest chapter in this deranged horror franchise, set for release this month, has done it again.

LADBible is reporting that the first official UK screening of “Terrifier 3” has led to people walking out in the opening scene alone, with “one person so far having been confirmed to have puked.”

‘Terrifier’ tends to revolve around Art, a killer clown, who gets resurrected by a supernatural force and terrorizes the residents of Miles County. Screening reports have become part of the film’s marketing campaign — not surprising then that ‘Terrifier 3’ producers have proudly confirmed reports from this latest UK screening.

To showcase just how proud ‘Terrifier 3’ producers are about shocking moviegoers, an audience reaction trailer has been released which features people exiting theaters and describing the film as disgusting, scary, depraved, and traumatizing, among other things.

Director Damien Leone recently hinted that the opening scene of the film was so gory and gruesome that Hollywood refused to fund it and he had to go the independent route again with this third chapter:

I got to meet with studios, like legit Hollywood studios, who wanted to make “Terrifier 3.” I knew they weren't going to let me make this movie based on the first five pages […] Mark my words, I guarantee you the first five minutes of this movie is going to be very controversial. But that's not even the big kill scene. So that's why I was like, I need to just make this movie on my own, because it's too insane.

“Terrifier 3” has been screening at numerous genre fests, and is currently at 93% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. It’s set to hit theaters on October 11.
