No Awards Campaign For Clint Eastwood's ‘Juror #2'

October 21, 2024 Jordan Ruimy

Warner Bros has unveiled its FYC page for awards season, and on there are titles such as “Dune: Part II,” “Furiosa,” “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” “The Lord of the Rings: The War of Rahim” and even “Joker: Folie a Deux.”

Meanwhile, Clint Eastwood’s “Juror #2” is notably absent. It doesn’t look as though Warners will be campaigning the film, unless the reviews are too good to ignore. The film was originally intended as a streaming-only release on Max, but at the last minute, Warners decided to bump it up to a limited theatrical release.

Empire City is now reporting that Warners will actually be releasing “Juror #2” in only 30 theaters, and not the previously reported 50. The rollout seems to be getting smaller by the day. Eastwood, 94, famously spent most of his career at the studio, and Warners is apparently not going to do much marketing on “Juror #2” either, according to Puck’s Matt Belloni.

“Juror #2” is supposed to premiere at the AFI Film Festival in only nine days’ time. If reactions from critics and audiences turn out very positive, maybe it’d be a good idea to expand this one nationwide. Whether Warners would like to believe it or not, Eastwood’s name can still sell tickets, and if he’s made a good film here then it’s well worth a shot.
