Glen Powell — who starred in “Top Gun: Maverick” — says more news about ‘Top Gun 3’ will be revealed very soon. I would bet it’ll most likely be a press release announcing the return of the cast.

On 12.05.23 I reported that Paramount and Tom Cruise were working on a sequel to 2022’s mega-blockbuster “Top Gun: Maverick.” The screenplay is being written by ‘Maverick’ co-writer Ehren Kruger.
The film will reunite Cruise with co-stars Miles Teller, and Glen Powell, as well as producers Jerry Bruckheimer and David Ellison. Joseph Kosinski, who is filming “Apex” with Brad Pitt, is expected to direct this one.
If the script goes according to plan, ‘Top Gun 3’ will most likely be Cruise’s next movie after M:I 8. I wrote having heard whispers that the tentative plan is for a 2025 production start, and, after last week’s Puck report, it’s sure looking as that will likely be the case.
