There’s a rumor spreading that Sam Raimi is being sought to direct “Avengers: Secret Wars” and that he is Marvel’s top choice.
Raimi had been previously rumored back in May, along with ‘Black Panther’ director Ryan Coogler, and MCU ‘Spider-Man’ director Jon Watts. The Russo brothers have directed the previous ‘Avengers’ movies.
This past April, Raimi released “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” to lukewarm reviews, but he’s had a strong filmmaking career having directed the likes of “The Evil Dead,” “A Simple Plan,” “Darkman,” “Drag Me To Hell,” and “Spider-Man 2.”
‘Doctor Strange 2’ was a disappointment for many fans, and Raimi only came onboard after original director Scott Derrickson parted ways due to “creative differences.” The script had been rewritten many times at that point. An actor in the film claimed the script had 33 rewrites.
Aslan is described as "he," with heterochromic eyes and red-striped face, a look Gerwig says was inspired by David Bowie. So this isn't a gender-swap. Aslan is still a male lion. He's just voiced by a 77-year-old woman.
