‘Prey 2’ in Development at HULU

A listing in this week’s Production Weekly has a sequel to Dan Trachtenberg‘s “Prey” now in development at HULU. The first film, a distant “Predator” spin-off, was well-reviewed and had many wondering why it wasn’t released in theaters, instead of going straight to streaming. Many critics called it the best ‘Predator’ installment since the the original 1987 movie. It shouldn’t have come as much of a surprise since Trachtenberg’s first film, “10 Cloverfield Lane,” was an efficient genre hybrid that practically went unnoticed in 2015. “Prey” was only his second feature as a director.
