It was inevitably going to happen, but A24 has already hopped on-board ‘Past Lives’ filmmaker Celine Song’s next film.
I can report that her second film currently goes by the title of “Materialists”. She’s already written the script and A24, who produced the acclaimed “Past Lives”, is backing it. No plot details were revealed.
“Materialists” is set to shoot in September. Once production wraps in, I’m purely guessing here, mid-to-late October, Song will probably start her awards campaigning for “Past Lives.”
Song’s “Past Lives,” which was released this past Friday, has been getting raves all across the board. It’s a cinch to show up on hundreds of critics top ten lists by years end. It currently stands at a whopping 94 on Metacritic.
