‘Dune: Part II’ Trailer Will Be Released on Wednesday …

May 1, 2023 Jordan Ruimy

This week, we head back to Arrakis.

In case anybody was wondering, the trailer for Denis Villeneuve‘s “Dune: Part Two” will be released this week — on Wednesday.

The trailer was screened last week at CinemaCon and the crowd ate it up. Villeneuve described it as a “an action-packed war movie” that's even MORE dense than the first film. Lots of new locations.

Here’s what one attendee said about the trailer:

OK, even a skeptic like me will admit that DUNE 2 looks pretty fucking cool. No more hand in the pain box, weird whispering shit. I'm talking sandworm conquerage. Austin Butler looks great. Miss Flo a welcome addition to this world. I'll keep an open mind. Fans will flip for this

This second part is said to be a more action-oriented film, but new characters will also be introduced, and more tribes will be present. I’m all fine with that but I do hope it goes beyond just fan service and gets to the nitty gritty — which I presume it will.

The sequel has an incredible cast: Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skargard, Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem and Charlotte Rampling, Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Lea Seydoux, Christopher Walken and Tim Blake Nelson.

‘Part II’ is one of the year’s most anticipated movies. It has a November 3rd release date and, according to Deadline, will not be ready for a Venice launch this year due to all the VFX work that’s still left to complete. It doesn’t look like any festival bow will happen.
