Back in November, Jeff Sneider reported that Christian Bale was close to joining Timothee Chalamet as Pete Seeger in James Mangold’s “Going Electric.”
Bale sadly dropped out of the project, no doubt due to the numerous delays, but in came Benedict Cumberbatch. Now, Sneider is saying Bumberbatch is in final talks to sign on for the role.
Seeger had an immense influence on Dylan, paving the way for his infatuation of the folk music scene in 1960s Greenwich Village. It wasn’t just Dylan either, Bruce Springsteen, among others, has cited and covered Seeger’s songs over the years.
“A Complete Unknown” is supposed to start filming in August. It’s also been confirmed that Chalamet will be doing his own singing in the biopic which chronicles Dylan’s “rise to fame on his way to becoming a folk music icon.”
