Warner Bros’ “Wonka” hit the high end of projections and grossed an estimated $38.5M domestically this weekend. The film, which also amassed $53.6M internationally, now has its worldwide total standing at $151.4M.
The budget for the film was $125M, and it’s now not that wild to expect it to hit $300M worldwide by the end of its run. It’ll need to have some legs, but there’s not much competition coming
As you know, I wasn’t a fan of the film, but audiences seem to like it. That A- CinemaScore is a good indication that people seem to be getting their money’s worth. Have our readers gone out to see “Wonka” this weekend? What did you think?
Criterion's December lineup has some great additions to the library, but the title that jumped out at me is Werner Herzog's "Grizzly Man," which officially joins the Collection on December 8.
