Last night, the Timothee Chalamet starrer “Wonka” took in $3.5 million in previews. The holiday weeks may boost it up, but for now it’s looking at a $30-35 million weekend. “Wonka” is the second widest release of the year, after “Barbie,” as it’s set to open in over 4,000 theaters. The family friendly film will play through New Year’s to decent legs, no doubt.
Paul Greengrass’ "The Uprising," starring Andrew Garfield, opened to $3.2M from 2,068 theaters this weekend. Yikes. The budget hasn’t been disclosed, but is said to be in the $20-$30M range.
