Is this the ultimate “sequel that nobody asked for”? EW is confirming that Billy Crystal and Danny DeVito are working on a sequel to 1987’s “Throw Momma From the Train.”
This comes after a GQ interview where DeVito had mentioned working on the sequel: "Billy [Crystal] and I want to work together again. We were looking at possibly doing Throw Papa From the Train," he told the outlet.
“Throw Momma From the Train” was the story of two men (Crystal and DeVito) who plotted to murder one's ex-wife and the other's mother. It was a deranged movie heralded by Anne Ramsay’s batsh*t cuckoo performance, which earned her an Oscar nomination.
DeVito directed ‘Throw Momma’ and, I assume, he’s looking to direct the sequel as well. While we’re at if, he also helmed two other twisted comedies, “War of the Roses” and “Death to Smoochy.” Hopefully, the level of derangement will persist in this sequel.
Aslan is described as "he," with heterochromic eyes and red-striped face, a look Gerwig says was inspired by David Bowie. So this isn't a gender-swap. Aslan is still a male lion. He's just voiced by a 77-year-old woman.
