While Michael Mann, 80, has been hinting at a sequel to 1995’s “Heat” as being in development, he has yet another project on the horizon and it sounds very Mann-esque.
Variety reports that the filmmaker is working on an adaptation of Ryoo Seung-wan’s 2015 crime thriller “Veteran”, a massive hit in South Korea and the 5th highest-grossing film in the country’s history.
“Veteran” follows a detective who is tracking down a young, and wealthy, business owner who is running his own crime syndicate. Mann’s version would be set in a U.S. city.
The film is said to be in the development stage, Mann is definitely producing and writing the screenplay, but hasn’t officially said he would be directing the project as well.
Is “The Exorcist” truly the greatest horror film ever made, or has time crowned a new champion of fear? Maybe it’s “The Shining,” ‘Texas Chainsaw,’ “Psycho,” or something entirely unexpected that still keeps you up at night.
